Winter Camp has been a blast so far! Fr. Joel and Tim gave excellent teachings on the topic of “guilt”, with 42 campers participating in the Q&A and in small groups discussing the teachings! Yesterday was 60 degrees and a mix of sunshine and thunderstorms – thanks be to God for the warm weather! Several of the campers headed out to the activity field for an intense game of football, while others played games and took walks in the beautiful Rivervale woods.
We ended 2010 with a service of Thanksgiving for New Beginnings and Fr. Joel anointing all the campers and staff. We sang songs in the candlelit chapel until midnight and ushered in 2011 by reflecting silently on the past year and remembering our beloved and ever memorable Archbishop Job by singing his composition of “A New Commandment.” We gathered again Saturday morning for a New Year’s Day Divine Liturgy, to offer the world back to God at the beginning of the year – one word – awesome! Thanks be to God for a new year and for all the blessings he’s bestowed upon us – especially for a wonderful Winter Camp and so many brothers and sisters here!
