This week has been full of good teachings given by excellent teachers. Some topics covered were the relationship between the body, soul, and nous, how to show our love in actions and not just words/ideas, theosis, and the general state of the Orthodox Church in America. As you know already, Fr. Joseph spoke on Monday, and we’ve been continually blessed with good speakers since then.
Here are David Becker and Fr. David Wey giving their teachings on Tuesday:
Here are Luke Beecham and Bob Coolman giving their teachings on Wednesday:
And here are Archbishop Job’s Thursday sessions including the town hall meeting and the famous “bishop in the hot seat” where campers get to ask him anything and everything that their hearts desire:
Not all of the teachings were specifically geared towards Orthodoxy, and some of them were instead focused on how to live as a Christian in day to day life. The Archbishop did speak more directly towards Orthodoxy, what is going on in the OCA, and how to live specifically as an Orthodoxy Christian, as did some of the other speakers, so there has definitely been a very healthy balance of teachings. The campers are absorbing knowledge that they will be able to carry with them for the rest of their lives.
Stay tuned for the all camp photo, as well as pictures from this week’s evening activities!
